Going solar in Anstead
Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Anstead is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Plenty of Anstead properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

Anstead: history and local area
Back in the 1860s John Anstead worked here as a timber getter and quarry master, and the suburb now carries his name. For a long time the land was farming country counted as part of Moggill. It was gazetted as a separate suburb in 1975, and in 1990 a slice of it was handed over to neighbouring Bellbowrie.
Rural residential properties make up most of Anstead, with some grazing and untouched land toward the west. Just over 1,500 people live across its 14.3 square kilometres, about 21.1 km by road south-west of the city. Dalys Reach of the Brisbane River forms the western edge, Moggill Conservation Park fills the north, and Mount Crosby Road runs through the middle.
Big rural residential lots often have room for a ground-mounted array away from shady trees, and properties further out benefit from a battery that keeps essentials running when storms knock out power.
