Going solar in Riverhills
Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Riverhills is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Riverhills: history and local area
Originally farmland in the Wolston Estate sale of 1901, the area was swept into LJ Hooker's Centenary Project in 1959. The developer suggested the Riverhills name in 1972 to describe the landscape, and the Queensland Place Names Board approved it in 1973. Low ground near the creeks went under in 2011, and the Newcomb Park pontoon had to be rebuilt after the 2022 flood.
Hills rise from under 10 metres by the Brisbane River to over 40 metres above Wolston Creek, with gullies draining toward the water. Roughly 4,100 people live here, 19.5 km south-west of the CBD. Riverhills Plaza on Bogong Street covers the basics, and Newcomb Park's boat ramp is home base for the Centenary Rowing Club and Lakers Dragon Boat Club.
Homes on the upper slopes often get good sun, while low-lying streets near the creeks that flooded in 2011 should keep inverters and batteries mounted high and away from potential floodwater.
