Going solar in Balmoral
Inner Brisbane is full of character: Queenslanders, workers cottages and townhouses on small lots in places like Paddington, West End, New Farm and Bulimba, where neat installs and careful panel layout matter.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Balmoral is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Many Balmoral homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Balmoral: history and local area
The name is borrowed from Scotland, an anglicised take on a Gaelic phrase usually translated as beautiful or majestic residence. Sts Peter and Paul's Catholic School was already teaching local kids by 1916. In June 1927 the Panorama Heights estate went under the hammer with 53 sites on offer, and Balmoral State High School followed in February 1958.
This is a compact pocket of only 1.3 square kilometres on the southern side of the Brisbane River, roughly 9 km east of the city. Around 4,170 residents call it home. Balmoral State High sits on the corner of Thynne and Lytton Roads, Sts Peter and Paul's is on Alexandra Street, and the Bulimba Memorial Bowls and Community Club on Quinn Street keeps the lawn bowlers busy.
On small inner east blocks, roof space is the limiting factor, so panel layout and orientation matter more than raw system size. A battery helps soak up midday output for evening use when everyone is home.
