Going solar in Morningside

Inner Brisbane is full of character: Queenslanders, workers cottages and townhouses on small lots in places like Paddington, West End, New Farm and Bulimba, where neat installs and careful panel layout matter.

Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.

Morningside is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

  • Many Morningside homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Morningside: history and local area

Dairy, sugarcane and tobacco farms took up the land from the early 1870s. One story ties the name to David Longlands' estate; another says it describes morning sun on the river banks. Estates were sold off in 1884 and again through the 1920s, a post-WWI quarry became Keralgerie Park by 1952, and the Cairncross Dockyard operated from the 1940s until 2014.

Close to 11,800 people live across its 5.4 square kilometres, about 5 km east of the CBD. Trains on the Cleveland line stop at Morningside station, and shoppers head to Morningside Central or Colmslie Plaza. Streets mix older weatherboard and chamferboard homes with newer units and townhouses. Keralgerie Park, the state school and the heritage-listed air raid shelter are local markers.

Older weatherboard homes here often have tin roofs that suit straightforward panel mounting, while townhouse owners usually need to check body corporate rules and shared roof space before planning a system.
