Bellara is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Being close to the water, Bellara gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

Bellara: history and local area
The name is an Aboriginal word meaning good, and the Queensland Place Names Board signed off on it in July 1961. That timing put Bellara in place just before the bridge from the mainland opened in 1963. Since then it has filled in as a small residential pocket between Bongaree to the south and Banksia Beach to the north.
At just over 3 square kilometres, Bellara is one of the smaller localities on Bribie. It faces west over the Pumicestone Channel, and the long sandy stretch of Sylvan Beach runs along its shore. The bridge to Sandstone Point lands close by. There are no schools inside its boundaries, so students go to Banksia Beach or Bongaree. About 3,300 people lived here in 2021.
Bellara sits right on the channel, so salt air is the main design consideration, along with checking roof condition on older island homes before mounting a new array.
