Going solar in Broadbeach
The central Gold Coast takes in the high-rise strip from Broadbeach to Main Beach, the canal homes of Bundall, Benowa and Isle of Capri, and family suburbs like Ashmore, Nerang and Carrara.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Broadbeach is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Being close to the water, Broadbeach gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

Broadbeach: history and local area
The Kombumerri clan lived here for thousands of years before British colonisation. Lots from the Mermaid Beach Estate went under the hammer around 1924, and from 1934 the state government developed a Broadbeach township. Holiday building really took off once Lennon's Broadbeach Hotel went up in 1955 and 1956, and Broadbeach State School followed on 16 May 1960.
A patrolled surf beach lies right in the middle of this small 1.4 km² suburb. Behind it you find The Star Gold Coast casino, the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre and a shopping centre. Kurrawa Park, Victoria Park, Federation Park and Broadbeach Park give some green space, and the G:link light rail stops at Broadbeach South on the Gold Coast Highway.
With so much apartment living near the beach, solar here often means a body corporate decision or a smaller roof, and coastal salt air makes corrosion-resistant hardware a must on any house close to the sand.
