Going solar in Mermaid Waters
The central Gold Coast takes in the high-rise strip from Broadbeach to Main Beach, the canal homes of Bundall, Benowa and Isle of Capri, and family suburbs like Ashmore, Nerang and Carrara.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Mermaid Waters is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Mermaid Waters: history and local area
When surveyor John Oxley landed nearby in 1823 from the cutter HMS Mermaid, the beach picked up the ship's name, and the land behind it became Mermaid Waters. Schooling arrived in one go on 30 January 1979, when both Miami State School and Merrimac State High School opened. Broadbeach Library followed in 2008, opposite Pacific Fair, and the population climbed past 13,000 by 2021.
Most homes here back onto man-made canals and lakes, the largest being Lake Hugh Muntz, a 17 hectare freshwater lake. Sport is well catered for at Pizzey Park Sports Complex, with the Miami Olympic Swimming Pool right next door. For shopping there are two small local centres and the Q Super Centre out west, while Pacific Fair sits just over the boundary in Broadbeach Waters.
Lakeside and canal homes usually have open water on one side with no trees or buildings to block the sun, which suits a full roof array, though fixings and inverter placement should allow for the damp air.
