Going solar in Isle of Capri
The central Gold Coast takes in the high-rise strip from Broadbeach to Main Beach, the canal homes of Bundall, Benowa and Isle of Capri, and family suburbs like Ashmore, Nerang and Carrara.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Isle of Capri is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Isle of Capri: history and local area
Cane was cut here in the late 1800s and early 1900s for the Benowa Sugar Mill, and dairy cows grazed the land after that. In the 1950s Efim Zola, an Italian-Australian developer, started raising the low farmland into a canal estate and named it after the Italian island of Capri. Bruce Small, later mayor of the Gold Coast, took over in 1958 and finished the job.
Only about 2 km north of central Surfers Paradise, the Isle of Capri is a canal neighbourhood that was already regarded as affluent by the early 2000s. For decades the only road link was a two-lane bridge built in 1960, and in 2022 it was replaced with a four-lane crossing. Surfers Paradise State School has been on the island since 1976.
Canal homes on the Isle of Capri are surrounded by water and salty air, so marine-grade racking and a sheltered inverter location are important, and larger homes with pools and air conditioning often suit a battery.
