Burpengary East: history and local area

Until 2010 this was simply the eastern side of Burpengary. That year it was gazetted as a separate suburb, recognising a distinct area bounded by water and the Bruce Highway. Community life has grown around places like Krause Park and the Burpengary and District Men's Shed, which is also where the local QCWA group meets.

Three waterways shape the map. The Caboolture River runs along the north eastern edge, Burpengary Creek flows east to Deception Bay, and Little Burpengary Creek roughly marks the south. Much of the creek land is grazing country or marsh, and the Deception Bay Conservation Park covers the south east. Housing ranges from smaller suburban blocks to larger rural residential lots, and there is a boat ramp on Uhlmann Road.

Low lying land near the creeks and bay means flood planning matters, so mounting the inverter and battery above likely water levels is a sensible step on many of the rural residential lots here.
