Going solar in Currumbin Waters
The southern Gold Coast stretches from Coolangatta and the beaches of Palm Beach and Burleigh back to Robina, Mudgeeraba and the valleys of Currumbin and Tallebudgera, with everything from beachfront units to acreage.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Currumbin Waters is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Currumbin Waters: history and local area
The name started life as a real estate development title. Currumbin itself is said to come from Bundjalung, possibly meaning 'high trees', or to be a corruption of kurrohmin, meaning kangaroo. Schools have helped define the suburb: St Augustine's moved here from Coolangatta on 27 January 1987, and Coolangatta Special School relocated on 1 July 2006.
Currumbin Creek winds through the suburb from Currumbin Valley toward the sea. North of the creek is mostly housing, with an industrial estate in the north-east and a residential canal estate in the middle, while the south-east is still farmland used for grazing. The suburb borders NSW and the Pacific Motorway, and almost 9,800 people lived here in 2021.
Canal-front homes and creekside streets need flood-aware placement of batteries and inverters, while businesses in the industrial estate can put large roof areas to work covering daytime loads.
