Going solar in East Brisbane

Inner Brisbane is full of character: Queenslanders, workers cottages and townhouses on small lots in places like Paddington, West End, New Farm and Bulimba, where neat installs and careful panel layout matter.

Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.

East Brisbane is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

  • Many East Brisbane homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

East Brisbane: history and local area

Reverend Thomas Mowbray purchased 13 acres in 1851, land later developed as Mowbraytown. A bridge went over the mouth of Norman Creek in 1855, and the property boom of the 1880s brought major housing estates such as Heathfield in 1886. The state school opened in 1899, Mowbray Park was set aside in 1904 and the school now called Anglican Church Grammar arrived in 1912.

Tucked between the Brisbane River and Norman Creek, East Brisbane rises to a small hill in the east with views over the city. Mowbray Park runs along the river and has a CityCat stop, while Heath Park is home ground for Eastern Suburbs FC. Churchie is the big school. Streets are mostly residential with plenty of original Queenslander houses and a few small shopping areas.

Original Queenslanders with corrugated iron roofs are common here and usually take panels without fuss, though verandah roofs and big old trees near the river can affect where the array goes.
