Going solar in Coorparoo

Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake.

Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.

Coorparoo is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

  • Many Coorparoo homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Coorparoo: history and local area

Until 1875 this area was known as Four Mile Camp. A public meeting that March picked Coorparoo, probably taken from an Aboriginal name for Norman Creek. Farms were sold off from 1856, John Black ran the first subdivision in 1882, and the Stanley Street bridge of 1886 opened the way to the city. Trams pushed out to Coorparoo Junction in 1915, and house numbers more than doubled between 1911 and 1921.

Sport is a big part of local life, with the Easts Tigers at Langlands Park, the Brisbane Lions training at Giffin Park and cricket at Peter Burge Oval. Coorparoo Square, opened in 2017, brought a Dendy cinema and Aldi. The heritage railway station still serves commuters 5.7 km from the CBD. Streets mix Spanish Mission homes along Cavendish Road, older Queenslanders and unit blocks from the late 1960s onward.

Spanish Mission homes, timber Queenslanders and 1960s unit blocks all sit side by side, so roof material, pitch and heritage listing can each change what panel layout works best on a given house.
