Going solar in Eight Mile Plains
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Eight Mile Plains is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Eight Mile Plains: history and local area
Flat ground about eight miles from One Mile Swamp, now Woolloongabba, gave the place its practical name. Charles Baker bought land in 1863, an agricultural reserve followed in 1864, and his hotel was licensed in 1865, later serving as a Cobb and Co stop. Electricity reached the area in 1936, and Brisbane Technology Park opened in 1986.
Bulimba Creek forms the north and west edges, with the Gateway and Pacific Motorways on the other sides. Brisbane Technology Park on Miles Platting Road is a major employment area, and the busway station links straight to the city. The Glen Hotel, the heritage-listed Hughesville homestead, the Brisbane Sikh Temple and a Bosnian mosque are local landmarks, alongside two state primary schools.
Townhouse developments, like the one built behind Hughesville, may need body corporate approval before panels go on shared roofs, while detached homes can usually plan a system and battery on their own terms.
