Going solar in Fairfield
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Fairfield is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Low-lying pockets of Fairfield sit inside council flood mapping. Where it matters we mount inverters and batteries above the flood planning level and keep isolators easy to reach.
- Many Fairfield homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Fairfield: history and local area
Brothers Samuel and George Grimes arrived in Queensland in 1849 and, in 1857, set up an arrowroot farm they called Fairfield, which lent the suburb its name. A Baptist church opened on Christmas Eve 1865 and moved to Annerley in 1935. The 28-lot Railside Estate was carved up in 1914, and a library opened in 1988.
One of Brisbane's smallest suburbs at 1.3 square kilometres, it runs between the Brisbane River on the west and the Beenleigh line on the east, with South Brisbane Cemetery to the north. Fairfield Gardens shopping centre holds a supermarket and the council library. The skate park in J.F. O'Grady Memorial Park is popular, and the CBD is under 6 km away.
Riverside homes here flooded in 1974 and 2011, so placing inverters and batteries high on a wall makes sense, and units in the area may need body corporate sign-off for rooftop panels.
