Going solar in Annerley
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Annerley is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Many Annerley homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Annerley: history and local area
Dairy farms came first, then the St Kilda Estate subdivision and the Junction Hotel in 1866. The post office opened in 1882 as Boggo, and in 1892 it was renamed Annerley, a name suggested by Digby Denham after a place in Surrey, England. Estates kept selling until 1924, and trams ran along Ipswich Road until April 1969.
Much of the suburb sits on a ridge with views back to the city, about 6 km away. Annerley Junction, where Ipswich Road meets Annerley Road, is the hub, with shops and an annual street festival. Mary Immaculate Church from 1932 and Our Lady's College are local fixtures. Apartment blocks sit alongside plenty of restored, heritage-listed Queenslanders.
Restored Queenslanders with tin roofs on an elevated ridge often get good sun, though older wiring and heritage considerations can affect where panels and a battery go, so a site check is worthwhile.
