Going solar in Varsity Lakes
The southern Gold Coast stretches from Coolangatta and the beaches of Palm Beach and Burleigh back to Robina, Mudgeeraba and the valleys of Currumbin and Tallebudgera, with everything from beachfront units to acreage.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Varsity Lakes is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Varsity Lakes: history and local area
In 1873 Thomas Blacket Stephens bought 6,980 acres of swampy country to drain for dairying, work his son William carried on. Delfin Lend Lease bought the land between Stephens and Robina in 1999 and created Lake Orr and Lake Azzura, with houses following. Varsity College opened in 2001, and in 2002 Stephens, Andrews and part of Robina were merged under the development's name.
Lake Orr and Lake Azzura shape the suburb, alongside the Varsity Lakes Wetlands Reserve with its melaleucas. Varsity Lakes station sits at the southern end of the Gold Coast railway line. Central Park has an oval, basketball courts and gyms, and Janette Green Park has a skate park. Close to 16,500 people lived here in 2021.
Much of Varsity Lakes was built from 1999 onward, so many homes have modern switchboards and simple roof lines that suit solar, though lakefront living can bring body corporate rules to work through.
