Going solar in Mount Gravatt East
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Mount Gravatt East is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Mount Gravatt East: history and local area
Twelve allotments of the Blantyre estate, on the corner of Cavendish and Creek Roads, were auctioned in June 1891. The local primary started as Creek Road State School in 1955 and took its current name in 1956, and Seton College was founded in 1964. Gazetted as a suburb in 1967, it shares its name with the hill Robert Dixon named in 1840.
Mount Thompson rises 190 metres here, and a disused Boral quarry on Pine Mountain Road has filled with acidic water that is unsafe to touch. The aquatic centre is a local favourite. Seton College is winding down, with new enrolments stopping after 2024, while the state school on Newnham Road and the Greek Orthodox church on Creek Road remain community hubs.
With Mount Thompson in the middle of the suburb, homes on its lower slopes may be shaded early or late in the day, so roof direction and hill shadow should both be weighed when sizing panels.
