Going solar in Greenbank
Logan blends established suburbs such as Springwood, Shailer Park and Browns Plains with new communities at Yarrabilba, Park Ridge and Logan Reserve, plus acreage through Jimboomba, Greenbank and Munruben.
Logan mixes established family suburbs, fast-growing estates like Yarrabilba and Park Ridge, and acreage around Jimboomba and Greenbank. Big households and big air conditioning loads make solar and batteries pay back quickly here.
Greenbank is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Plenty of Greenbank properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

Greenbank: history and local area
Europeans arrived in the 1840s, and by the 1880s people were dairying, farming and cutting timber. The area was first known as Teviot, but it later took the name of William Slack's cattle property, Greenbank. A provisional school opened in 1893, a railway came through in 1930, and a post office in the 1950s. A hotel on Teviot Road once served as a Cobb and Co changing station.
At 110.5 square kilometres, Greenbank is big and rural, with farmland around the edges and the forested Greenbank Military Range, which is Commonwealth heritage listed. A strip of creek and parkland runs from springs near Spring Mountain down to Karrawatha National Park. Butterfly Park and Greenwood Lakes are popular, and Greenbank Recreation Reserve hosts rugby league. Owner occupation was high, at 86 per cent in 2001.
High home ownership and large rural residential blocks make Greenbank well suited to long-term investments like bigger arrays and batteries, especially where bores, sheds or horse facilities add to power use.
