Going solar in Neranwood
The southern Gold Coast stretches from Coolangatta and the beaches of Palm Beach and Burleigh back to Robina, Mudgeeraba and the valleys of Currumbin and Tallebudgera, with everything from beachfront units to acreage.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Neranwood is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Plenty of Neranwood properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

Neranwood: history and local area
Timber built this place. The Nerang Hardwood Company opened a sawmill in 1923, and the locality's name is a squeeze of that company name. A telephone and telegraph office followed in 1924, and a small provisional school ran from June 1925. Logs went out on a private tramway to the railway siding at Mudgeeraba, but the mill, tramway and school all wound up in 1928.
Only 79 residents were counted in 2021 across this small 3.2 km² locality about 12 km south-west of Robina. Most of the interest is outdoors, with Little Nerang Dam, Neranwood Park, Numinbah Reserve and the Waterworks Reserve at Austinville all listed among its parks. There are no schools here, so families look to Mudgeeraba Creek State School and Robina State High School.
Small rural properties out near Little Nerang Dam are a long way from the suburbs, so a solar and battery setup that can keep essentials running through a grid outage is often worth more than a quick payback.
