Going solar in Tallebudgera Valley
The southern Gold Coast stretches from Coolangatta and the beaches of Palm Beach and Burleigh back to Robina, Mudgeeraba and the valleys of Currumbin and Tallebudgera, with everything from beachfront units to acreage.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Tallebudgera Valley is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Plenty of Tallebudgera Valley properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

Tallebudgera Valley: history and local area
Schooling marks the early record here. Westbury Provisional School opened on 21 March 1892, became Westbury State School in 1909 and was renamed Ingleside State School in January 1926. A second school, Tallebudgera Upper, ran from 1923 until about 1942. Ingleside still operates on Tallebudgera Creek Road, with 109 students in 2017.
This is big, steep hinterland country of more than 60 square kilometres along the NSW border, rising to 800 metres in the far south-west inside Springbrook National Park. Peaks include Mount Cougal, Boyds Butte, Bally Mountain, Mount Gannon and Tallebudgera Mountain (Durran). Tallebudgera Creek Dam is here, and about 1,760 people lived in the valley in 2021.
Among mountains like Mount Cougal and Bally Mountain, hillside shading can cut hours off a roof's sun, so many valley properties look at ground mounts on cleared land and batteries for backup during outages.
