Going solar in Worongary
The southern Gold Coast stretches from Coolangatta and the beaches of Palm Beach and Burleigh back to Robina, Mudgeeraba and the valleys of Currumbin and Tallebudgera, with everything from beachfront units to acreage.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Worongary is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Plenty of Worongary properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

Worongary: history and local area
The name comes from Whorrongary, an Aboriginal word said to mean a vine or the flight of a pigeon. A heritage-listed farmhouse once owned by the Schmidt family still stands on Worongary Road. Growth picked up in the 1990s: the state school opened its doors on 1 February 1993, and two years later Hinterland Baptist Church set up in a timber building moved onto the site.
Two landscapes share this 14.1 km² suburb. The north-east is ordinary suburban streets, while the middle and south are rural residential, with blocks typically 4,000 to 5,000 m². Worongary Creek winds through, the Pacific Motorway marks the eastern edge and forestry covers the north-west. The Mudgeeraba Show runs every June at the showgrounds, and the Gold Coast Light Horse Education Museum sits beside the old Schmidt farmhouse.
Those 4,000 to 5,000 m² rural residential blocks often have room for a bigger array, a shed roof or even a ground mount, which makes larger systems with battery storage a realistic option for households running pumps and workshops.
