Going solar in Tallai
The southern Gold Coast stretches from Coolangatta and the beaches of Palm Beach and Burleigh back to Robina, Mudgeeraba and the valleys of Currumbin and Tallebudgera, with everything from beachfront units to acreage.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Tallai is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Plenty of Tallai properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

Tallai: history and local area
Tallai has grown steadily in recent census rounds. Head counts went from 3,765 in 2011 to 4,150 in 2016, then reached 4,465 by 2021. It sits in the Gold Coast hinterland within the City of Gold Coast, roughly 17.5 km south-west of Surfers Paradise and about 83 km from the Brisbane CBD, a short drive inland from the beaches.
There is no school inside the suburb, so local kids head to Mudgeeraba, Gilston, Robina or Nerang for classes. What Tallai does have is open space: around 17 parks and reserves, among them Frank Chaston Sporting Field, Ingles Park, Sid Bigg Park and Grandview Terrace Parkland. Golfers use the nine holes at Tallai Country Golf Club, and Mudgeeraba Lodge provides aged care.
Hinterland blocks around the golf course and reserves often sit among established trees, so checking how morning and afternoon shade falls across each roof face matters before deciding on panel layout and battery size.
