Going solar in Nudgee Beach
Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Nudgee Beach is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Being close to the water, Nudgee Beach gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

Nudgee Beach: history and local area
Like neighbouring Nudgee, the name traces back to the Yugarabul word nardha, place of ducks. A small provisional school opened in April 1926 and became a state school in 1946, using a building moved from Woolooman. It closed in 1988 and reopened the following year as a field study centre, renamed Nudgee Beach Environmental Education Centre in 1992.
Fewer than 320 people live here, almost all in separate houses, surrounded by mangroves on Moreton Bay. Much of the northern part is within the Boondall Wetlands, and Nudgee Creek meets the bay here. There is a boat ramp and floating walkway into Kedron Brook, four canoe ramps and bike paths heading towards Toombul. Brisbane Airport sits directly to the south.
Right on Moreton Bay, salt-laden air is constant, so marine-grade mounting hardware and coastal-rated panels and inverters are worth insisting on for a long-lasting system.
