Why Nudgee Beach homes choose RS Energy for solar panels

Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Nudgee Beach quote starts with a free measure of your roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Nudgee Beach makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Nudgee Beach is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe. Our solar panels work in Nudgee Beach also covers neighbouring Nudgee, Banyo and Shorncliffe, all within about 4km.

  • Being close to the water, Nudgee Beach gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

Nudgee Beach: a local snapshot

Like neighbouring Nudgee, the name traces back to the Yugarabul word nardha, place of ducks. A small provisional school opened in April 1926 and became a state school in 1946, using a building moved from Woolooman. It closed in 1988 and reopened the following year as a field study centre, renamed Nudgee Beach Environmental Education Centre in 1992.

Fewer than 320 people live here, almost all in separate houses, surrounded by mangroves on Moreton Bay. Much of the northern part is within the Boondall Wetlands, and Nudgee Creek meets the bay here. There is a boat ramp and floating walkway into Kedron Brook, four canoe ramps and bike paths heading towards Toombul. Brisbane Airport sits directly to the south.

How much does solar cost in Nudgee Beach?

Most Nudgee Beach homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Nudgee Beach?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Nudgee Beach?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them. Near the coast we use stainless fixings and corrosion-resistant racking.

Do you service Nudgee Beach 4014 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Nudgee Beach is part of our Brisbane Northside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Nudgee, Banyo, Shorncliffe, Boondall. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
