North Lakes is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Newer homes in North Lakes usually have clean, unshaded roofs and modern switchboards, which keeps installs quick. Estate covenants rarely restrict solar, but we check before we quote.

North Lakes: history and local area
Before the estate, this land bred police horses from 1891, then became a dairy, a pineapple farm and finally slash pine plantations. Lend Lease flagged a master planned community in 1995, and work began on a 1,000 hectare site in April 1999. Stockland took over Lensworth's share in 2004, and North Lakes was gazetted as its own suburb, separate from Mango Hill, in February 2006.
Built around Lake Eden, North Lakes was planned for roughly 8,500 homes, a town centre and a business park, and it has collected several industry awards for master planning. The library opened in 2014, and schools include North Lakes State College, The Lakes College and Bounty Boulevard State School. A 95 metre bridge over the Bruce Highway on Plantation Road links across to Dakabin.
The original plans called for solar passive homes oriented to the sun, so many North Lakes roofs already face a useful direction. Large family homes with ducted air conditioning also suit bigger systems with a battery.
