Going solar in Sunnybank Hills
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Sunnybank Hills is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Sunnybank Hills: history and local area
Originally a slice of Coopers Plains, the area was known as Sunnybank Hills long before its official boundaries were set in 1971. The railway line from Yeerongpilly had come through in 1885. Growth picked up in the late 1970s, when the autism education centre opened in 1977 and Sunnybank Hills State School in 1979. The library followed in 1987.
Ridges and hills rise across the suburb, while the lower northern and eastern parts turn marshy near the stations. Calamvale Creek wetlands provide wildfowl habitat on the edge. Shauna Downs, Pinelands and Sunnybank Hills Shoppingtown cover shopping. About 85 per cent of homes are stand-alone houses, mostly modern brick and tile with some post-war weatherboard. The state primary school is one of Brisbane's largest.
Brick and tile homes are the norm here, and tiled roofs need the right hooks and careful handling during installation, while larger family homes with ducted air conditioning get the most from a well-sized system.
