Going solar in Tarragindi

Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake.

Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.

Tarragindi is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Tarragindi: history and local area

The suburb carries the name of Tarragindi Tasserone, a Loyalty Islands man brought to Queensland in the late 1800s who escaped, cleared land on a hill near Sandy Creek and died in 1913. George Pratten surveyed the area in 1857. Estates sold in 1914, 1920 and 1924, and a World War II field hospital at Ekibin later housed displaced persons.

A north to south valley sits between Wellers Hill, the highest point, on the east and Tarragindi Hill on the west. Sandy Creek starts in Toohey Forest and runs through the middle, while Ekibin Creek drains the far side of the ridge. The South East Freeway and Toohey Forest frame most of the boundary. Ekibin Memorial Park, Wellers Hill State School and St Elizabeth's serve locals.

Homes on the slopes of Wellers Hill and Tarragindi Hill face many directions, so one roof might catch morning sun and the next afternoon sun, which changes the best panel split and whether a battery pays off.
