Going solar in Yatala
The northern Gold Coast is one of the fastest growing parts of Queensland, from the canals of Runaway Bay and Hope Island to new estates in Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau and semi-rural blocks around Wongawallan.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Yatala is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Yatala: history and local area
A South Australian named the area after Yatala Harbour near Port Augusta, a name thought to come from the Kaurna word yertalla. St Mary's Catholic Church opened in 1875. From 1969 to 1988 an African safari park operated here, and once it closed the land became industrial estates. Power's Brewery arrived in 1988, Rivermount College in 1992, and fast growth took off from 2006.
The Albert River wraps around the north and west of Yatala, with a public boat ramp for getting on the water. Industry is a big part of life: the Carlton and United brewery, Kanga Loaders and Gilmour Space Technologies all operate here, alongside more than 300 other businesses. Around 20 parks include Brewery Reserve and Pagan Parklands. The Yatala Pie Shop remains a well-known stop, and the Bannockburn footbridge links walkers and cyclists across the river.
With large industrial sheds sitting beside homes, Yatala shows how much unshaded roof can be put to work, and businesses with daytime loads usually get the fastest payback from solar.
