Going solar in Stapylton
The northern Gold Coast is one of the fastest growing parts of Queensland, from the canals of Runaway Bay and Hope Island to new estates in Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau and semi-rural blocks around Wongawallan.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Stapylton is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Stapylton: history and local area
The suburb carries the name of surveyor Granville William Chetwynd Stapylton, who was killed near Mount Lindesay in 1840. A railway station opened here in 1889, the first stop after Beenleigh on the South Coast line. The local state school ran from 1920 to 1961. In 1974 the Yatala Drive-In opened, and the area belonged to the Shire of Albert until amalgamation in 1995.
Stapylton is a mixed-use area bounded on the west by the Albert River and the Pacific Motorway. Mount Stapylton, also called Yellowwood Mountain, rises to 152 metres in the north, with a weather radar tower on top. You will find an industrial park, quarries, Aldi, Harvey Norman and a landfill and recycling centre. The drive-in still runs two big screens, and Dick Johnson Racing is based here.
Stapylton is home to Australia's first green waste to energy power plant, and for nearby homes and workshops on open ground, rooftop solar with a battery is the simplest way to make more of their own power.
