Going solar in Zillmere
Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Zillmere is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Zillmere: history and local area
By 1872 around 27 small farmers were growing pineapples, pigs and crops at Zillman's Waterholes, named after Lutheran missionary Johann Leopold Zillmann. St John's Lutheran Church opened in 1875 and the school in 1877. When the railway pushed through to Petrie in 1888, the station and school became Zillmere. In the 1950s the Housing Commission turned farmland into estates of prefabricated houses imported from France.
Roughly 13 kilometres north of the city, Zillmere was about 60% residential and 40% industrial in 2008. The station anchors the centre, with an IGA, pharmacy and medical centre on the eastern side of the line. Eleven heritage-listed sites include old churches, farmhouses and workers' cottages. Sport is covered by North Star Football Club, which hosts a Saturday parkrun, and the Zillmere Eagles.
Lightweight 1950s prefab houses have their own roof structures, so checking framing and roof condition before installing panels is a sensible first step here.
