Solar panels for Toowong, planned around your home
Whether it is your first system or you are replacing an old one, we size solar for Toowong homes around real usage, not the biggest number we can fit on the roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Toowong makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Toowong is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Inner Brisbane is full of character: Queenslanders, workers cottages and townhouses on small lots in places like Paddington, West End, New Farm and Bulimba, where neat installs and careful panel layout matter. From Toowong to nearby Taringa and Auchenflower, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.
- Many Toowong homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Getting to know Toowong
Richard Drew carved up land and named the Village of Toowong in 1862, borrowing an Aboriginal word for a bird. The Ipswich railway came through in 1875, a shire was formed in 1880 and trams arrived in 1903. Toowong Baths opened in 1909, and Toowong Village, the shopping and office centre built over the railway station, opened in 1986.
Between Mount Coot-tha and the river, Toowong is mostly rolling hills with very little flat ground. The commercial centre is around Toowong Village and the station, with the Regatta Hotel and a CityCat stop on the river. Toowong Cemetery and Memorial Park add open space. Schools include Brisbane Boys' College and Stuartholme. West toward the foothills there are Queenslanders and medium density homes.

Solar panels in Toowong: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Toowong?
Most Toowong homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Toowong?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Toowong?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Toowong 4066 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Toowong is part of our Inner Brisbane service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Taringa, Auchenflower, Indooroopilly, St Lucia. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
