Solar panels for Taringa, planned around your home
Whether it is your first system or you are replacing an old one, we size solar for Taringa homes around real usage, not the biggest number we can fit on the roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Taringa makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Taringa is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning. From Taringa to nearby Indooroopilly and Toowong, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.

Getting to know Taringa
Two Aboriginal words, tarau for stones and nga for made up of, give the suburb its name, place of stones. When the Main Line opened in 1875 the local stop was called West Milton, renamed Taringa that same year. Estates were sold off between 1883 and 1886, a Baptist church went up in 1891, and the state school opened in 1900 before closing in 1996.
A ridge runs along Swann Road with steep slopes either side, so many streets here climb or drop sharply. About 8,700 people live on just 2.1 square kilometres, 6.8 km by road from the CBD. Shops line Moggill Road, trains stop at Taringa station, and the Taringa Rovers play in the Brisbane Premier League. Detached Queenslanders make up much of the housing.

Solar panels in Taringa: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Taringa?
Most Taringa homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Taringa?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Taringa?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Taringa 4068 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Taringa is part of our Brisbane Westside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Indooroopilly, Toowong, St Lucia, Auchenflower. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
