Going solar in Wavell Heights
Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Wavell Heights is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Wavell Heights: history and local area
Before 1941 people knew this area as West Nundah. That year it was renamed after Field Marshal Lord Wavell, the Allied commander in the Middle East during World War II. Churches were already appearing from 1937, but the real boom was post-war. The state school opened in 1948, Our Lady of the Angels' in 1950 and Wavell State High in 1959, as families filled the northern suburbs.
Roughly 10.5 kilometres north of the city, the suburb is almost entirely houses. Mercer Park and Shaw Park sit at its southern tip. Three schools cover primary through to high school, which keeps it popular with families. Several heritage-listed places remain, alongside churches from four denominations that went up between 1937 and 1957.
Post-war family homes here tend to have straightforward roofs, and with schools nearby, many households have afternoon and evening peaks that a battery can cover well.
