Going solar in Alderley
Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Alderley is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Alderley: history and local area
Alderley Edge in Cheshire inspired the name when the area was established in 1878, the same year its post office opened. Turrbal people are the traditional owners. The railway station followed in 1899, and housing estates were auctioned in waves in 1890, 1914, the early 1920s and 1937. Council trams ran here between 1949 and 1968.
Hemmed in by Newmarket, Ashgrove, Enoggera, Grange, Stafford, Kedron and Everton Park, Alderley covers 2.5 square kilometres with about 6,750 residents, roughly 7 km from the city. It has its own train station, a community shopping complex with a supermarket, warehouses and a police station. Parks include Alderley Grove and Greenhills, and the old brickworks chimney on Mina Parade is heritage listed.
Alderley's established blocks from estates sold between 1890 and 1937 often carry mature trees and neighbouring roofs at close range, so a quick shade check helps decide panel placement before choosing system size.
