Going solar in Gordon Park
Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Gordon Park is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Many Gordon Park homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Gordon Park: history and local area
General Gordon, famous for the siege of Khartoum, is remembered in the suburb's name and many of its streets. The Gordon Estate's 264 blocks went to auction in 1886, but an ambitious 1,063-lot sale in 1890 sold only 73. More subdivisions followed in the early 1920s. The suburb disappeared from the map in 1975 and was reinstated in 1992.
Kedron Brook wraps around the east and south, with Stafford Road along the north, about five kilometres from the CBD. Green space is a highlight, with Kokoda Park, Wally Bourke Park, Hickey Park and several smaller reserves. St Carthage's Catholic Church sits on Beaconsfield Terrace. There are no schools inside the suburb, so families head to Stafford, Wooloowin or Kedron.
The old 16 to 20 perch allotments mean smaller roofs and close neighbours, so efficient panels and a careful shade assessment help a modest roof work harder.
