Going solar in Stafford
Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Stafford is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Stafford: history and local area
Locals once called this valley Happy Valley. A public push in 1885 and 1886 settled on Stafford, a nod to the English county of Staffordshire, and the state school opened its doors in May 1886. Electric trams reached the area in 1940 and ran until 1968, while the Housing Commission built many homes through the 1940s and 1950s. Gibson's Tannery shut in 1982, and Stafford City Shopping Centre arrived two years later.
Kedron Brook winds along the suburb's edge, and Sparkes Hill climbs to 96 metres in the south-west, crowned by a reservoir holding around 16% of Brisbane's water supply. Streets mix original Queenslanders with post-war Housing Commission homes on quarter-acre blocks. Stafford City has a food court and a 10-screen cinema, and Hickey Park is home ground for the Wilston Grange Australian Football Club.
Those post-war homes on quarter-acre blocks usually have simple roof lines and plenty of open sky, which makes it easier to fit a decent array without fighting shade from neighbours.
