Going solar in Belmont
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Belmont is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Belmont: history and local area
Colonel August Bernecker built Belmont House around 1860, borrowing a French phrase meaning beautiful mountain, and the district took the name. Hoop pine cutting started in the 1850s, followed by sugar cane and later pineapples, bananas and dairies. The Belmont Division split from Bulimba in 1894 and was a shire by 1901. A tramway served the area from 1912 until the 1925 amalgamation into Brisbane.
Mount Petrie rises to 169 m in the south and much of the suburb is still bushland or large rural holdings, about 13 km east south east of the CBD. Housing is on the affluent side, with large estates and very big homes. Belmont Rifle Range hosted shooting at the 1982 and 2018 Commonwealth Games. Roughly fifteen parks are scattered around, including Belmont Hills Bushland.
Big homes on large blocks tend to have high energy use and plenty of roof or ground space, so larger arrays paired with one or more batteries suit Belmont households, provided bushland shading is mapped first.
