Going solar in Tingalpa
Brisbane's bayside east, from Wynnum and Manly through Tingalpa and Wakerley, mixes breezy bayfront homes with quieter family streets, and salt air near the water is a real design consideration.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Tingalpa is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Tingalpa: history and local area
A township was surveyed on Old Cleveland Road in 1863 but never built, and was formally scrapped in 1943. Settlers established New Tingalpa during the 1860s instead, adding a post office in 1867, the Gothic Christ Church in 1868 and a state school in 1873. Nobody is quite sure where the name comes from, though Tingalpa Creek, about 5 km away, is one theory.
Bulimba Creek runs along the western boundary, and the suburb has a good share of parks and bushland, including Kianawah Park and the Meadowlands picnic ground within Minnippi Parklands. About 8,460 people live across 8.9 square kilometres, 13.2 km east of the city. Older weatherboard cottages sit alongside newer estates of low and high set brick and tile homes.
Brick and tile homes in the newer estates usually need tile hooks rather than tin roof clamps, and older timber cottages may need a roof check first. Both types can run well on a properly sized system.
