Going solar in Camp Hill

Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake.

Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.

Camp Hill is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

  • Many Camp Hill homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Camp Hill: history and local area

German farmers Peter Schick and Kasper Klüpfel bought land here in 1859, and for a while the rise was called Schick's Hill. The current name comes from the Four Mile Camp Hill, a resting spot for drovers and travellers. Estates such as Coorparoo Heights and Mount Bruce Homesites were subdivided between 1916 and 1925, and the tram from Coorparoo reached the area in January 1925. In World War II a US Army hospital stood behind the Camp Hill Hotel.

Hills define this mostly residential suburb about 8 km south east of the city. Whites Hill climbs to 112 m, with a lookout and a large reserve that also hosts touch football fields, and Seven Hills Bushland Reserve borders it. Bowie's Flat Park has an artificial lagoon. Day to day shopping is at Camp Hill Marketplace, with boutiques along Old Cleveland Road and three schools close by.

Homes on the slopes of Whites Hill, Esquiline Hill and Sankeys Mountain can catch excellent morning or afternoon sun, but bushland reserves and hill shadows mean panel placement should be checked against the actual sun path.
