Going solar in Carrara
The central Gold Coast takes in the high-rise strip from Broadbeach to Main Beach, the canal homes of Bundall, Benowa and Isle of Capri, and family suburbs like Ashmore, Nerang and Carrara.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Carrara is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Carrara: history and local area
Cotton was the first crop here, grown by the Manchester Cotton Company from the early 1860s. The name comes from Karara, an Aboriginal word said to mean long flat. Carrara has a colourful leisure past: the Ski Gardens of 1958 became Sea World in 1972, Pleasure Island ran from 1959 to 1962, and Surfers Paradise International Raceway operated from 1966 until 1987.
Low and flat, Carrara sits on the Guragunbah Plain, once called the Merrimac Carrara Flood Plain, with the Nerang River on its eastern side. Carrara Stadium was the main venue for the 2018 Commonwealth Games and still hosts AFL and cricket. Three golf courses, around 45 parks, the weekend Carrara Markets and a rescue helicopter base round out the suburb.
Sitting at about one metre above sea level on a floodplain, Carrara homes should have inverters and batteries mounted high on walls rather than at ground level, so the gear stays clear of water in a big wet.
