Going solar in Chermside West
Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Chermside West is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Chermside West: history and local area
Parts of this area were once called Craigslea, and it became its own suburb in 1975, sharing the governor's name with Chermside. St Gerard Majella Catholic Church opened on Pullford Road in 1962 and moved to a new building in Maundrell Terrace in 1977. Craigslea State School opened in January 1972 and Craigslea State High School in January 1975.
Sitting about 11.7 kilometres north of the city by road, the suburb includes bushland around Downfall Creek. The council's Downfall Creek Bushland Centre on Rode Road has cultural and environmental displays. Frederick Annand Park offers barbecues, a playground and a basketball half-court. A small shopping centre on Milburn Street houses the post office, and both Craigslea schools cover primary and high school.
Streets bordering Downfall Creek bushland can get shade from tall trees, so a site check on how many hours of direct sun the roof gets is worth doing before sizing panels.
