Going solar in Stafford Heights
Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Stafford Heights is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Stafford Heights: history and local area
Most of this ground was once mapped as the Kedron View Estate, around 1914. Real growth came in 1950, when Clem Jones Pty Ltd carved the Somerset Hills Estate into 243 lots. Stafford Heights State School followed in 1956 and Somerset Hills State School in 1966. Residents had been using the 'Heights' name since the 1950s because the land sits above Stafford, and it became an official suburb in 1975.
Hilly streets sit about 10.2 kilometres north of the city, with Downfall Creek as the main waterway. There are ten local parks, among them Grey Gum, Broula and Webster Road parks. Two state primary schools serve the area, Somerset Hills with a special education program, plus the lower campus of Queen of Apostles Catholic Primary. High school students travel to neighbouring suburbs.
On hilly streets subdivided from the 1950s, roof direction varies a lot from house to house, so checking which faces get morning and afternoon sun matters before deciding panel layout and battery size.
