Going solar in Cornubia
Logan blends established suburbs such as Springwood, Shailer Park and Browns Plains with new communities at Yarrabilba, Park Ridge and Logan Reserve, plus acreage through Jimboomba, Greenbank and Munruben.
Logan mixes established family suburbs, fast-growing estates like Yarrabilba and Park Ridge, and acreage around Jimboomba and Greenbank. Big households and big air conditioning loads make solar and batteries pay back quickly here.
Cornubia is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Plenty of Cornubia properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

Cornubia: history and local area
In the 1920s this was Cornubia Park, a large farm cutting timber, running dairy cows and growing corn, oats and barley. The Jessen family bought it in September 1934 and shortened the name to Cornubia. It was sold and cut into smaller lots in 1956, gazetted as a locality in 1975, and by the early 1980s houses were going up. St Matthew's opened in 1984 and Chisholm Catholic College in 1992.
Bushland is a big part of Cornubia. The 196 hectare Cornubia Forest Nature Refuge covers the north-west, including the escarpment, with tracks for walking and mountain biking. Even the street names, like Sugarwood, nod to the trees. Beenleigh-Redland Bay Road crosses the south. The suburb is home to about 7,800 residents, and two Catholic schools, St Matthew's and Chisholm Catholic College, serve the area.
Leafy streets near the escarpment and nature refuge can mean tall trees overhanging roofs, so a careful shading check through the year helps decide panel placement and whether microinverters or optimisers are worthwhile.
