Going solar in Manly West
Brisbane's bayside east, from Wynnum and Manly through Tingalpa and Wakerley, mixes breezy bayfront homes with quieter family streets, and salt air near the water is a real design consideration.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Manly West is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Manly West: history and local area
Until 1975 this was simply part of Manly, when it was gazetted as its own suburb. Early markers include The Springs Methodist Church, opened in December 1916. Schools arrived as the population grew: Manly West State School in 1958, Wondall Road State School in 1966 and Moreton Bay Boys College in 2003. The Manly name itself traces back to the New South Wales beach.
Set back from the bay, the suburb rises to 48 metres at Roles Hill in the north-east, where the heritage-listed reservoirs stand. Green Camp and The Springs are its two neighbourhoods. About 12,400 people live here, 17.6 km east of the city. Mayfair Village on Manly Road handles shopping, and the 2011 census found 87 per cent of dwellings were stand-alone houses.
With most homes being detached houses, many of them low-set brick builds, there is usually clear roof area for a decent system and room in the garage or on a side wall for a battery.
