Going solar in Wynnum West
Brisbane's bayside east, from Wynnum and Manly through Tingalpa and Wakerley, mixes breezy bayfront homes with quieter family streets, and salt air near the water is a real design consideration.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Wynnum West is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Wynnum West: history and local area
Farming and vineyards drew Europeans here in the 1860s, and Aboriginal people from the Lindum Camp worked alongside them. Lindum, a Jagera and Quandamooka campsite, remained until the 1890s. Real growth only came after World War II, with Lindum State School opening in 1954 and Iona College in 1958. The name and boundaries were made official in August 1975.
Mostly houses, with a small commercial strip along Wynnum Road, the suburb covers 5.8 square kilometres and had around 12,800 people at the last count. Wynnum Plaza anchors the shopping, and Lindum station links to the city and Cleveland. Bomparpin Swamp is a local wetland, while Durrington Park, the Bayside BMX Club and the heritage train park keep families busy.
Largely residential streets of post-war and newer homes give plenty of standard pitched roofs to work with, and a battery lets the household run air conditioning into the evening on stored daytime solar.
