Going solar in Northgate
Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Northgate is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Northgate: history and local area
A railway junction gave this suburb its name. In 1890 the Railways Department renamed North Coast Junction station Northgate, joining North Coast with the gate from Sandgate. The School of Arts opened in 1922 and a Methodist church in 1928. In 1947 Golden Circle opened its pineapple cannery on Earnshaw Road, and the state school on Amelia Street welcomed its first pupils in January 1959.
About 11 kilometres north-east of the city, Northgate is part houses and part industry, with the factories clustered near its two train stations. Northgate station is where the Shorncliffe line splits off from the North Coast line, and Bindha station sits nearby. The Golden Circle plant is still the best-known landmark, and the council-run Northgate Hall stands at Scott and Ridge streets.
Homes near the rail lines and factories usually sit on flat suburban blocks with few tall trees, which tends to mean clear, unshaded roofs and steady generation through the day.
