Going solar in Nundah
Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Nundah is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Many Nundah homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Nundah: history and local area
Moravian missionaries set up here in 1838, and the spot was long called German Station. When the railway to Sandgate opened in 1882 it was renamed Nundah, reportedly from the Turrbal word nanda, a chain of water holes, and a building boom followed. It was the seat of the Shire of Toombul until 1925. Toombul Shopping Centre opened in 1967, and the bypass tunnel came in 2001.
A ridge runs across the suburb north-west to south-east, with Schulz Canal cutting through and Zion Hill as a high point. Nundah Village on Sandgate Road has cafés and shops, and both Nundah and Toombul stations are close by. Housing ranges from workers' cottages to high-density apartments. Toombul Shopping Centre flooded in 2022 and is being demolished.
Cottages on the ridge often get good sun, while homes near Schulz Canal saw what the 2022 flood did, so keeping batteries and inverters well above ground level makes sense.
