Going solar in Oxley
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Oxley is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Low-lying pockets of Oxley sit inside council flood mapping. Where it matters we mount inverters and batteries above the flood planning level and keep isolators easy to reach.

Oxley: history and local area
John Oxley surveyed the creek in December 1823, first calling it Canoe Creek, and the suburb later took its name from it. Land went on sale in 1851, a hotel opened in 1860 and the first housing subdivision came in 1864 near Douglas Street. The railway station opened in 1874, and the Township of Oxley was laid out two years later.
The Brisbane River runs along the north and Oxley Creek down the east, where the low flood plain is prone to flooding. Part of the Archerfield Wetlands lies in the creek corridor. Two golf courses, the Queensland Police Academy, Canossa Private Hospital and a heritage war memorial are all here. Housing mixes with industry, and the old Austral Bricks quarry is now a residential estate.
Homes on the eastern flood plain should keep batteries and switchboards high, while the newer estate on the former brick quarry offers modern roofs that suit clean, unshaded panel layouts.
