Going solar in Darra
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Darra is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Darra: history and local area
Darra took its name from the railway station, named in 1876, though even the railways were unsure of its meaning by 1914. Land was first subdivided in 1864, and part of the Wolston Estate went to auction in 1901 with few takers. A cement works opened in 1914 and operated until 1998. From 1975, Vietnamese refugees began settling here, shaping the suburb's character ever since.
The Ipswich and Centenary motorways meet in the south west corner, about 18.5 km from the city by road. Industrial estates ring the north west, east and south, with homes in between. Many houses are Queenslanders from the 1940s and 1950s, and larger blocks are being split for new homes and townhouses. The Linh Son Temple, Darra station and Brisbane Technology Park are local landmarks.
Older 1940s and 1950s Queenslanders usually carry tin roofs that take panels well, while new townhouses on subdivided blocks may have smaller roof areas that call for a careful, compact layout.
