Going solar in Paradise Point
The northern Gold Coast is one of the fastest growing parts of Queensland, from the canals of Runaway Bay and Hope Island to new estates in Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau and semi-rural blocks around Wongawallan.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Paradise Point is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Being close to the water, Paradise Point gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

Paradise Point: history and local area
Growth here has come with island developments. The population rose to 5,930 by 2011 as Ephraim Island and the Sovereign Islands filled with homes, reached 6,536 in 2016 and passed 7,000 by 2021. A 2014 survey placed King Charles Drive fourth in Queensland for million-dollar houses, well ahead of most streets in the state.
Paradise Point fronts the Broadwater with South Stradbroke Island shielding it from the open ocean and the Coomera River close by. The Esplanade parklands have a playground, barbecues and picnic shelters, and the village shops cover the post office, newsagent and a medical clinic. Markets run on the fourth Sunday of each month. Sovereign Islands is reached by the Sovereign Mile, Ephraim Island by bridge.
Big waterfront homes on the Sovereign Islands and Ephraim Island often carry pools and large air conditioning loads, which suits bigger arrays with battery storage, while the Broadwater air calls for corrosion-resistant hardware.
